Ambassador of the Czech Republic Miroslav Kosek Opened the Exhibition "The End of the Prague Spring. The Tragic Protest of Student Jan Palach."
The exhibition has been opened in cooperation with the National Museum of history of Latvia and the Latvian State Archive with the great interest of professionals, public and media on March 7 at the premises of National Museum of History.
Another part of the exhibition about Jan Palach named "The Aftermath of Prague Spring and Charter 77 in Latvia / the Baltics" in electronic form has been simultaneously introduced by the Latvian State Archive.
The lecture by the Professor of the University of Latvia Mr. Igors Šuvajevs "Politics and Philosophy. Palach case " preceded the opening of the exhibition. The course introduces students to the field of diplomacy and diplomatic service in an interactive and original format, as well as through weekly meetings with prominent Czech and Slovak diplomats. The course provides the students with an insider's view and introduces them to the functioning and the working practices of the diplomatic service.
A number of prominent personalities, who have held diplomatic posts at embassies in countries around the world or in international organizations, have already spoken (or will speak before the end of the winter semester).
