Fazale “Fuz” Rana (born February 6, 1963) is an American biochemist, Christian Apologist, author, and science lecturer. Since July 2022, he has advanced from the position of Vice President to become the President and CEO of Reasons to Believe, a nonprofit organization that promotes day-age forms of old Earth creationism.[1][2] He writes and speaks extensively about evidence for creation emerging from biochemistry, genetics, human origins, and synthetic biology.[3]

Early life

He was born in Ames, Iowa, and raised in West Virginia.[4

Science

Biochemist Fazale (Fuz) Rana writes and speaks extensively about evidence for creation emerging from biochemistry, genetics, human origins, and synthetic biology. As vice president of research and apologetics at Reasons to Believe (RTB), he is dedicated to communicating to skeptics and believers alike the powerful scientific case for God's existence and the Bible's reliability.

Fuz converted to Christianity during graduate school. Though he initially embraced the evolutionary paradigm, Fuz eventually drew the conclusion that only a Creator's involvement could explain the elegance of biochemical systems. But it was only after his fiancee's pastor challenged him to read the Bible that Fuz became convinced of the validity of Christ's claims and of his own need for a Savior.

The death of his Muslim father some years later helped Fuz appreciate the necessity of evangelism and Christian apologetics and led to his joining the RTB team in 1999. Today, Fuz addresses science-faith hot topics through books - including Creating Life in the Lab and The Cell's Design - as well as art

Creationism

Rana has a PhD in biochemistry and has published a book titled, The Cell's Design: How Chemistry Reveals the Creator's Artistry (2008), advocating creationism and denying evolution. He pretends in his book he is a secular intelligent design advocate however Rana is a devout Christian and Biblical creationist who is one of the founders of the Reasons To Believe organisation, a Christian creationist think tank that promotes Christian progressive creationism.[1][2]

In fact, Rana's work is characterized by topics and arguments usually associated with young earth creationism. For instance, Rana has put some effort into trying to explain why harmful bacteria would exist if they were created by a good and benevolent god. He argues that they were created to be perfect, but have since evolved their harmful natures, which is strikingly similar, for instance, to articles written by Georgia Purdom for Answers Research Journal. Indeed, Rana and Reasons T
