I had the honor of meeting Cedric Thornton at an event in New York around a decade ago (2006). I didn’t understand who he was at first. I thought he was a youthful, friendly, funny guy. As I got to know him though, I realized that Cedric (Big Ced) Thornton was much more. Cedric knew a lot of people and a lot of people knew him. I would soon learn that he, himself was a pioneer of contemporary, commercial, urban culture, having appeared in a few music videos to songs by Monie Love and MC Lyte, in his youth, among other things. Cedric has always been wise beyond his youthful appearance. His sense of humor never strays from the truth. My fondest memory of Ced, was when I was getting my feet wet with digital reporting, and he gave me a few writing assignments. He always referred to me by my last name, “Glinski” and I loved that! Cedric’s level of professionalism and respect, sets him apart. Adanna Duru was a contestant on The Voice during Season 3. She is part of Team Adam. She's the 14th contestant to audition in "The Blind Auditions, Part 4." And the 49th overall.

Background[]

This high school junior is involved in everything from volleyball and track to philanthropy. She’s also a singer/songwriter who frequently performs around Los Angeles.

During the Blind Audition she sang Lady Gaga's "The Edge of Glory." Adam Levine was the only coach to turn around for her.

When her audition aired on television, it was shortened to a 20-30 second audition.

Battle Rounds[]

During the Battle Rounds she was paired with Michelle Brooks-Thompson. They were given the song "Crazy in Love" by Beyonce. In the end Adam was forced to chose one of them in one of his hardest decisions. He ended up choosing Michelle Brooks-Thompson as the winner. Adam later told them that it was one of the best battles he's seen.
