Sandeep Pathak (born 14 May 1978) is an Indian film, television and theatre actor in Marathi and Hindi Language. He has featured in television shows such as Asambhav, Eka Lagnachi Dusri Goshta. His notable films are Poshter Girl, Harishchandrachi Factory, Ek Hazarachi Note, Rangaa Patangaa. He is also known for his work in theatre with plays such as Varhad Nighalay Londonla, Sakharam Binder, Asami Asa Mi, Vyakti Aani Valli. He has done many comedies shows like Hasa Chakat Fu, Fu Bai Fu and Comedy Express.

Born in Bataha village in Mungeli, Chhattisgarh, to agriculturist parents, his educational journey began in his village, extending to Bilaspur for further studies.

After completing his masters in Chhattisgarh, Dr Pathak continued his education at the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad, and the National Chemical Laboratory, Pune. The 43-year-old was born in Chhattisgarh’s Batha village. He moved to Bilaspur for his schooling and, after earning a BSc there, he went on to get a PhD from the University of Cambridge, UK. He then pursued further studies at UK’s Oxford University, and then at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, US. He became a member of the AAP in 2016.

Pathak was also an assistant professor at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi in the department of energy science and engineering, which he joined in 2016 as well. He left in 2020 and has been working full time for the AAP ever since.

Pathak came into prominence after AAP’s massive sweep in Punjab during the 2022 assembly elections. He was said to be the brains behind the party’s election strategies.

In April, addressing a crowd in Bilaspur during his first visit to the city after becoming a Rajya Sabha MP, Pathak had pitched himself as the “son of Chhattisgarh”. “I was in the US and England for nine to 10 years.
