Syracuse -- Carrie Lazarus long has been a familiar face in the homes of Central New Yorkers. She has been a newscaster for the last 27 years at WSYR-TV and before that at WHEN-TV. Now, Lazarus wants to be remembered for something more than the news of the day. So she has established the Carrie Lazarus Fund for Extraordinary Talent. Lazarus will host a combination fundraiser and concert of young performers at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Landmark Theatre, 362 S. Salina St., Syracuse.

On TV On April 28 WSYR-TV (Channel 9 News) will present a special program on Carrie Lazarus and Rod Wood’s 25 years with the station. The time will be announced.
They’ve been together on the air 25 years, which may be close to a record for a television news anchor team. Carrie Lazarus and Rod Wood of WSYR-TV’s News Channel 9 sit in front of the cameras’ red eyes for 90 minutes every weekday. They’re still having a good time. It’s a comfortable fit, after all these years. “You learn to trust somebody you sit next to all the time,” Rod explains. “We laugh a lot,” Carrie says. Her nickname is “Laz.” Rod, who turns 70 in December is the senior member of this partnership but not the best-looking, despite his reputation as a snappy dresser who comes to us every night in a neat pin-stripe suit, nice tie and folded pocket square handkerchief. American art writer
Carrie E. A. Scott, b.1979, is an American/English curator, Gallery Director, TV presenter[1] and art writer[2] living in London. She is also known by Carrie Scott Lazarus.[3]
Early life
Scott was born in Oxford, England and moved to Old Greenwich, Connecticut.[4] She went to Greenwich High School, then attended Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, graduating class of 2001.[3] She did a Master's in Art History at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA.[5]
Career
Scott was Director of Nicole Klagbsrun Gallery,[6] New York, where she worked with artists such as Beth Campbell, Matthew Day Jackson, Rashid Johnson, Mika Rottenberg, Adam McEwen, and Storm Tharp. Prior to that, Scott was curator of the Hedreen Gallery at Seattle University's Lee Center for the Arts,[7] Director of the James Harris Gallery.[8]
In 2008 Scott established her own company that is an art consultancy, gallery and curatorial endeavour.[9] S
