Fabrice BREGIER

President and Chief Executive Officer - Airbus

Fabrice Brégier was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Airbus on the 1st of June 2012. He is a member of the Airbus Group Executive Committee.

Further to the merge of Airbus Group HQ and the Commercial Aircraft division², he was appointed Airbus COO and President Commercial Aircraft, which has taken effect as of the 1st of January 2017.

Fabrice Brégier started his career in 1983 as a test engineer at the Creys-Malville nuclear power station, becoming sales manager for Péchiney (Japan) in 1984. In 1986 he joined the DRIRE Alsace (Ministry of Industry) and was then appointed Director of Economic and Financial Affairs with the Ministry of Agriculture in 1989.

Having been Advisor to several French Ministers, Mr. Brégier joined Matra Défense in 1993 as Chairman of the Apache MAW GIE (co-operation with Dasa) and Chairman of the Eurodrone GIE (with STN-Atlas). In 1996 he was appointed Director of Stand-Off activities (Apache, Scalp EG/Storm Shadow) in what had become Matra BAe Dynamic

Fabrice Brégier (* 16. Juli1961) ist ein französischerManager. Von Januar 2017 bis Februar 2018 war er Präsident und Chief Operating Officer (COO) von Airbus. Er gehörte dem Exekutivkomitee der EADS an, das Airbus Commercial Aircraft, Airbus Defence and Space und Airbus Helicopters umfasst. Seit Oktober 2018 leitet er die französischen Aktivitäten von Palantir Technologies.

Leben

Fabrice Brégier wurde am 16. Juli 1961 in Dijon (Côte-d'Or) geboren und ist der Sohn eines Physikprofessors und einer Hausfrau. Einer seiner Großväter war Arbeiter. Er nahm an vorbereitenden Mathe-Kursen am Gymnasium Carnot (Dijon) teil. Er ist Absolvent der École polytechnique (Abschluss 1980) und der Mines ParisTechParis.[1] Brégier studierte an der École Polytechnique und an der Mines ParisTech.[2][3]

In the world of air travel, there are two titans battling it out for supremacy. Located on either side of the Atlantic, rival aircraft manufacturers Boeing and Airbus have always been open and rather candid about their ongoing fight for a greater share of the skies. In an interview with CNBC at the end of last year, Fabrice Brégier, President and CEO of Airbus, explained how competition with Boeing was indeed “fierce”, but then simultaneously attempted to play the rivalry down, saying: “We are not focused on that. Clearly, we have already more than 1,000 net [orders] this year, after a record year last year. We will be number one, or very close to number one.”
