Brian Herbert is the author of multiple New York Times bestsellers. He has won several literary honors including the New York Times Notable Book Award, and has been nominated for the highest awards in science fiction. In 2003, he published DREAMER OF DUNE, a moving biography of his father Frank Herbert that was a Hugo Award finalist. While Brian Herbert has had several of his own novels published, he is most famous for his work that expands on his father's Dune novels. These novels, written with author Kevin J. Anderson, have been commercially successful and generally well received by the public.
In addition to the various Dune prequels, the two Dune sequels, and two "interquel" Dune works, Brian Herbert has edited several other works relating to the Dune universe, as well as to his father. In 2003, Brian Herbert authored Dreamer of Dune, the biography of Frank Herbert. This book won Brian a 2004 Hugo Award finalist nomination for "Best Related Book."[1]

Brian Patrick Herbert (born June 29, 1947) is an American author, known for his work on the Dune franchise, which was created by his father, Frank Herbert.
Brian Herbert's novels include Sidney's Comet, Prisoners of Arionn, Man of Two Worlds (written with his father), and Sudanna Sudanna. In 2003, Herbert wrote a biography of his father titled Dreamer of Dune: The Biography of Frank Herbert. The younger Herbert has edited the Songs of Muad'dib and the Notebooks of Frank Herbert's Dune. Herbert created a concordance for the Dune universe based on his father's notes, though, according to the younger Herbert, there are no immediate plans to publish it.[2] He has written several comic books with Kevin J. Anderson based on Dune novels and short stories.
