Sidney Miller III (born September 24, 1980), also known by his production name of Speakerbomb, is an American record producer and keyboardist.[1] He was a founding member of the Los Angeles-based band Malbec,[2] and was also a keyboardist in the hip hop group The Knux.[3] He is currently a producing and writing as a member of The Sharpshootaz production/songwriting team, working with artists like Alex Jacke and Jesse McCartney.
Early life
Sidney Miller III was born in 1980 in Los Angeles to two music trade magazine founders, Sidney Miller Jr.[4] and Susan Miller; they started publishing Black Radio Exclusive, popularly known as BRE Magazine in 1976.[5] Miller attended the Brentwood School in Brentwood, California, graduating in 1998.[ He had submarine duty over Florida before he and his crew flew the Atlantic to Africa. His crew likes to tell the story that with his navigating they landed at Dakar with 18 minutes of fuel left. They continued to Thurleigh, England to become part of the 8th AF, 306th Bomb Grp. and the infamous 367th Clay Pigeon Squadron. In his own words, "Going on raids was scary but thrilling for young, foolish and brash American boys." On April 5, 1943, while on a raid on Antwerp, he parachuted 32,000 ft. from his burning B-17 in Holland. He landed in a dike and was injured. He was captured by the occupying German troops. He spent 16 days in solitary in Dulag Luft before being sent by boxcar to Stalag Luft 3 where he spent the next 2-plus years. In 1938, he worked with and befriended Mickey Rooney, and wrote lyrics for his musical compositions. After Rooney joined the Army during World War II, Sidney turned to songwriting. In the late forties, he worked on radio and wrote many musical materials for nightclubs. He also joined Walt Disney Studios, where he wrote, directed, and composed music for many TV series. He was married three times and had four children. Among his notable credits are Dungeons & Dragons (1983-1985) and Which Way to the Front? (1970). He died in Los Angeles, California, USA, on January 10, 2004, of Parkinson's disease, at the age of 87.•
